In an updated remake of the 1968 original series, former Navy SEAL Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) returns home to O’ahu to investigate his father’s murder, and Hawaii’s governor persuades him to head up the new team: his rules, her backing, no red tape and full blanket immunity to hunt down the biggest “game” in town.

Detective Danny “Danno” Williams (Scott Caan) joins the team in order to keep the island safe for his 8-year old daughter Grace. Also joining the team is Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Dae Kim), an ex-Honolulu Police Detective who was wrongfully accused of corruption. Chin’s cousin, Kono Kalakaua (Grace Park), is a beautiful and fearless native, fresh out of the academy and eager to establish herself among the department’s elite.
